Maoyuu Maou Yuusha - 1
No surprises: I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode. And frankly, I’m probably gonna be pretty biased during the show’s run because it’s from the main staff of Spice and Wolf, which I love, the main leads are voiced by Ami Koshimizu, who has been one of my favorite seiyuu since School Rumble and is both charming and adorable in this show, and Jun Fukuyama, who’s usually great at everything and is displaying some of his Chu-2-ness, and it’s set in medieval times, which I’m a sucker for.
Unfortunately, there’s a bit too much “bounce” for my liking in the first episode, which is not surprising because it’s produced by Arms, but it’s essentially offset by some exposition and informative dialogue. I thought it was a good introductory to story’s world, its issues between humans and demons, the consequences of ending war, its economic landscape, etc. Plus, the visuals and soundtrack are good. Just a solid start all around, and while it’s not for everyone, it’s very much up my alley. 4/5

It’s a show about a war with demons.
